Fabric Shakers

Industrial designer Emir Rifat Isik brings a soft touch to the dinner table with his Tuzu Biberi ("salt and pepper" in Turkish) concept. Isik combines the tactile warmth of fabric with a pouch design that expands and shrinks along with the contents. Very interesting.

Typewriter People

Oakland-based artist Jeremy Mayer disassembles typewriters and then reassembles them into full-size, anatomically correct human figures. According to his website, he does not solder, wed, or glue his assemblages together. Absolutely nothing is introduced to the assemblage that did not come from a typewriter.
