Seems pointless. You'd still need to remove the lids before taking them to the bottle depot for recycling.

So does the material you punch out just drop into the drink? Sounds gross to me...

That's what I was thinking,too....where does the material you punched out go? If it somehow had a powerful magnet (but not too powerful...just enough to get the punched material)....I don't think it would be possible to calculate that so it worked on every bottle though. Hmmm.

I think this is an awesome idea. Every stupid fastfood joint serves kids' milk in a bottle. My 2 year old cannot drink from the bottle without getting a mess down the front of his shirt. If you ask them for a cup they want to charge you. It's a huge pain in the butt. I wonder if the device would fit in my purse. You think they could make a smaller design? Perhaps add a keychain to it. Of course next thing you know the kids will be punching holes in each other. And then like everyone else I'd be wondering where those holes went.

Sooo cool!! I really loved this idea, is much more usefull than taking aut the cap. Maybe bottle capping companies should start producing this too... regards!!
