The "New York Street Advertising Takeover" took place yesterday, with more than 120 illegal billboards throughout the city being turned into pieces of art. Organized by Jordan Seiler, the event reclaims hundreds of billboards that are not registered with the city, which makes them not only illegal, but intrusive and ugly. The boards were first whitewashed by volunteers and then handed over to artists for a final transformation. Excellent.
