Couldn't resist this one. Illustration from an ad for the United Food Company in the December, 1957 issue of Good Housekeeping. The ad also had recipes for Holiday Banana Quick Bread and, ahem, Banana Nog. Check out the Mid-Cent Xmas set on Flickr for more retro design goodies.

Yellow Treehouse Restaurant

To demonstrate that the phone book can be used to complete any project, the New Zealand Yellow Pages decided to construct a restaurant in a redwood tree just north of Auckland. Designed by Pacific Environments Architects, the Yellow Treehouse Restaurants was constructed by sourcing all products and services out of the Yellow Pages.
