American Still-Life
In her American Still-Life series of paintings, Chicago-based fine artist Pamela Michelle Johnson makes us ponder a culture of instant gratification where the consequences of overindulgence are often ignored. With intense light and shadow, Johnson's sweet and greasy subjects take on a classic realism. The paintings are massive in scale, with most over six feet tall. Check out more of Johnson's work on her site.
