MPRIES is a family-owned supermarket chain in Austria who understands the value of good design. Instead of using the same, generic blueprints for each new store, MPRIES hires up and coming architects to create site-specific plans. Each store is unique, with an unusual attention to detail inside and out. Inspiring.

Beautiful. I wish American companies has this kind of design sense. MPRIES needs to open up shop in the states.

Very Impressive - joining two things I love, food and architecture!
I can see the external architecture working in the U.S., but as for the interior being completely unique in each store - I think they could run into some problems. If I'm like most people, then we are accustomed to walking into a Wal-mart or a "insert local grocery chain here" and knowning where things are and go right to them...if not exactly where they are, then the general area. It's the same layout in every store. Different layouts mean, longer times to find stuff...you know how we Americans hate to waste precious time!
