With a name like Fusebox, our studio couldn't just create normal jack-o-lanterns. So we went down to the hardware store for supplies, carved up some pumpkins, and wired them for electricity. It was a fun creative exercise for all of us. I was really surprised how cool some of the pumpkins turned out. Please don't try this at home, however, unless you possess some basic electrical training (although rope lights and Christmas lights worked well, too, and don't require wiring).

» Frankenpumpkins from Kellypuffs - Not Just for Breakfast Anymore
Tim Siedell and those crazy kids at Fusebox were busy this week making what are probably the coolest jack-o-lanterns on the face of the planet. Tim kindly agreed to let me feature one of them here but you must, MUST, go over to the badbanana blog to c... [Read More]

Nifty. I look forward to seeing tales of kids who burned their houses down trying to emulate these Frankenpumpkins.

Should help cull the population, at least.

These are so amazingly cool! It makes me crave the hardware store. Fortunately, I have a house full of ideal supplies—now you've totally distracted me. Do you guys have pumpkin goop all over the Fusebox conference table?;-)

Justin: Dang. I like Frankenpumpkins a whole lot better than Robot-O-Lanterns. Nice one.

Cathryn: The goop was the easy part. We had wires and batteries and light bulbs and all kinds of other crap all over the place. Messy, indeed.

Great Pumpkins!

There is nothing like giving a childhood project a grown up twist!

I have carved the same pumpkin for YEARS! Kind of my Halloween trade-mark. After seeing these creations I am re-thinking my tradition.

Fantastic! "Frankenpumpkins" will definitely be on the Meacham porch this year. Perhaps Lowes or Home Depot should see this. There's good margin in the parts.

I love love love love LOVE the Frankenpumpkins.

How important IS basic electrical training, anyway?!?! ;-)

Nice idea. Good example of the restless creative spirit..."Why do things have to be the way they always were?". Followed by "What if..."

But what about your carbon footprint? What if you could use some of those horrible solar powered garden lights...

Oh Know, you've got me thinking now - there goes the weekend.

I love your blog! I just came across it. We have similar content. You have some great Halloween posts on here.
