Pretty Awesome
This is the funniest and most perfectly executed spot I've seen in a long time.
Is it good advertising? Yes. Candy is a high impulse, low thinking purchasing decision. You know what Skittles are. Sometimes you just need to be reminded. A memorable, enjoyable spot like this increases the chance you will consider Skittles the next time you pass through the candy aisle.
You gave me a giggle today, and now I want Skittles...unless they're made out of that guy he met on the bus.

I enjoyed it as well. And you're right, impulse buys like Skittles don't need to convince people how their lives will be improved by using their product... they only need to remind people of the yummy goodness of the colorful sugar snacks!
Mmmm... I wish we had those over in Germany!
