Can You Name the Artist?

1_2

3_2

Two of the lesser-known pieces from this world-famous artist's impressive body of work.
First person to name the artist in the comments section will be identified and lauded in the follow-up post.
I'll give you three hints: 1) The artist is a woman, 2) The artist is no longer living, and 3) One of these hints is a lie. Go ahead, give it a shot.

I'm guessing Picasso.

Total shot in the dark here...Hitler?

O' Kieffe? O' Kief?

Im too sleepy to google how spell it.

Toulouse-Lautrec?

The guesses above are great. :)

I'm also guessing Picasso in his Blue Period. But that can't be right, given the hints above (The artist is either a dead woman or a living man. =_=).

Van Gogh?

@ Valley Girl Intelligentsia: It's (Georgia O'Keefe). I love her paintings of poppies. ^_^

The artist is Janis Joplin. I compliment the guesses from everyone, because you can see the inspiration Janis quite possibly took from those artists to create her own original work. Lovely.

Jasper is correct! Follow-up post will come later today. Great guesses everyone. Thanks for playing.

nice pic hope to come back
