Three Dimensional Glass Paintings
Beijing artist Xia Xiaowan's unique style of painting results in eerie, three dimensional images. Using a special type of paint, Xiaowan creates his images on multiple panes of tinted glass. The top piece, which is a self portrait, is made from placing fifteen acrylic plates in a row. The 48-year-old Xiaowan calls this "painting in the true space," which means he brings his art into the space traditionally separating painting and viewer.

Okay, so this is a very interesting technique resulting in a really cool effect, but someone really needed to bake this guy some cookies or something when he was little. Seriously disturbing...yet I can't look away.
